Indian restaurant?
Published 1 year, 11 months ago in My life.Anyone know of an excellent Indian or Pakistani restaurant? Don’t care if it’s fancy or a whole in the wall - just want authentic, TASTY food!

Hey. Um a good restaurant my goes to with her work colleagues is River Kwai its on centre road i believ near all the shops in clayton. they ahve good deals on some nights.. I’ve been there once. Find out the nights they ahve the speciasl because you get more food. Roughly for a good ample meal 20 dollars a head.
Basera Indian Restaurant, located at 42 Forest Rd, Ferntree Gully 9752 3443 is superb. The hosts are very friendly and also welcoming. The food is beautiful, I always buy the lamb saag, (lamb with spinach) and my husband always gets the beef bangalore (very hot)
Hopefully you are in the area!!, you could try sampling all the dishes from around your area and surrounding areas. Good luck
There is a nice one near the corner of Middleborough and Canterbury Roads in Box Hill South/Blackburn area
Near the corner of Burwood Hwy & Hanover Road in Vermont South. The restaurant faces Burwood Hwy, not sure of the name, but we are there at least once every two weeks. The restaurant is nothing flash, but the food is superb & cheap. Best roti bread I have ever tasted. I find a good recomendation for any restaurant is seeing people of that nationality frequenting it. This is always full of Indians, Malaysian, Pakistani and Asians.
There is a decent one called Khyber Pass in Vermont South, cnr Morack Rd and Burwood HWY.
I also recommend Jen’s restaurant but I too have forgotten it’s name! It is very diverse though and everything I have tried there is delicious. But there is not much seating room inside for large groups.
I also definatly reccomend the khyber pass rest. It’s the best food i’ve ever had.
